The drivers license has become an unofficial picture ID within our country.  The e-DMV is a “concept” kiosk located at your DMV office for renewing your registered drivers license.  The use of the kiosk by registered drivers allows DMV agents to spend more time tracking unregistered or savory individuals attempting to obtain a license with stolen social security numbers or phony identification.  The e-DMV provides another layer of safety for our country.
